Former flames reunite a decade after their breakup, given a chance to right past wrongs. Will they see it as their chance or too much of a gamble to try their hand at love again?

Character Q&A: Simeon King

On a crisp morning in Oakland, California, I found myself in the heart of Simeon King’s high-end office at King Sports Management (KSM). The office, located in a sleek high-rise, boasted expansive windows with a stunning view of the city skyline. The space was tastefully decorated with modern, high-end furnishings, and the air was filled with the scent of fresh coffee.

Simeon, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit with a neatly groomed beard, sat comfortably in a stylish leather chair behind his polished mahogany desk. The room was a testament to his success and high standards, with minimalist art adorning the walls and a state-of-the-art sound system softly playing instrumental jazz in the background.

“I’m glad you came by,” Simeon said, taking a sip of his coffee. “This interview is for Dallas, correct?”

I clarified that the focus of the interview was more on him than on Dallas, piquing Simeon’s curiosity.

With a hint of surprise and intrigue in his eyes, Simeon adjusted to the new direction of the conversation. As we began to explore topics from his past, it became clear that Simeon had not anticipated this shift. His reflections on Eryn Peters, his first love, revealed a nostalgic side that was both endearing and enlightening, offering a glimpse into a story filled with emotional depth and unresolved connections.

The unexpected focus on his past hinted at a compelling backstory soon to be revealed in his upcoming story, Sloth.

So This is Love Chapter 19: “Because I Love You, Ayanna, And Not As A Friend”

This chapter pissed off a lot of readers but also made them fall even more in love with the MMC, Dallas Roque. He left his heart on the table in this chapter, and we couldn’t help but feel frustrated with the FMC, Ayanna. It was a pivotal scene that challenged the characters’ resolves and put their wills on full display. Chapter Nineteen became one of the most highlighted chapters in So This is Love—and for very good reason.

Inside the Character: Getting to Know Nubia Merci from Ebb & Flow

Nubia Merci. A personal favorite of mine. Nubia’s story started as a free download for my subscribers, and if I’m not mistaken, it was one of the first free offerings I shared with my mailing list, aside from the sign-up stories. Readers fell in love with Nubia just as much as I did, and they often asked if her and Naazir’s story would continue. Of course, it was an automatic yes. And not only because I loved these two as a couple, but because I was simply in awe of Nubia’s character.

Let’s get to know the woman behind the name a bit more intimately.

When Love Just Happens: Episode 5 -Then, Boundaries Start to Blur

ESME

The sound of pots being placed on the stove ahead of me pulled my eyes away from the bag I was rummaging through. Between trying to keep my focus off Malcolm and the stunning view of Manhattan’s tallest skyscrapers behind me, I was struggling to keep it together.

Exclusive Sneak Peek: Sloth

We are officially one week away from closing out my Love is Cure, Vol. 1 – Vices & Virtues series! In previous newsletters, we’ve gotten to know the main characters of Sloth, the final chapter in the series. Last month, we sat down with Eryn for her Q&A, and next week, we’ll have a conversation with Simeon—an interview that takes place before his story in Sloth begins.

Today, I’m excited to share a sneak peek at a flashback scene from Sloth. As you know, Sloth is a second-chance romance that gives Eryn and Simeon another shot at love. Let’s travel back in time to glimpse their relationship in its earlier stages, when they were just teenagers.

Mr & Mrs Jones Chapter 8: “What’s The Most Expensive Bottle Of Champagne?”

To know me is to know that one of my favorite stories, if not the favorite, is Girl Code. Right behind it is the sequel, Mr. & Mrs. Jones. I knew I’d be writing this sequel the moment I typed “The End” on Girl Code. I just really loved Melodee and Amir—both as individual characters and as a couple. There were so many moments I couldn’t wait to write in Mr. & Mrs. Jones, and this scene in Chapter Eight was at the top of the list.

In Girl Code, one of the major turning points was Melodee’s divorce. It was a deeply painful experience that left her confused. The aftermath—like her ex-husband expecting a baby before the ink on their divorce papers dried—was enough to send anyone into a depressive spiral. But, fate brought her and Amir back together just when she needed an escape the most, distracting her from her new reality as a divorcee. In this sequel, payback comes in the classiest way possible, making this chapter one you won’t forget.

Inside the Character: Getting to Know Asher Truesdale from Wrath

Asher Truesdale stepped into my mind, then onto the page, and instantly stole my heart. I can’t even discuss him without blushing. He’s one of my favorite book baes, if not my absolute favorite (don’t tell Amir!), and for very good reason. His patience is the most attractive thing about him, but the man is full of traits that radiate excellence.

Let’s dive into the man who has become an instant favorite for many of us—the incomparable Asher Truesdale.
