Pryce Williams has shown his growth since Lust, at least in my opinion! We’ve seen him in a couple of stories since then, most notably Envy, where he proved he wasn’t the same Pryce we met in Meant to Be or Lust. And this alternate ending feels like his graduation into a Pryce we can’t help but love… and one who’s finally gotten the happily ever after he’s earned. Enjoy!

Like a lot of our alternate story endings, this one has lived rent-free in my head since I wrapped up Rayla and Ajani’s serialized romance Ray & Jay. I’ve been asked if their story would ever continue, and I don’t think so. But I did always plan to check in with them here and there, and we get to do that with our alternate endings.

When I decided to work on the Author’s Cuts versions of my stories, Lena’s Ex-File was one I knew I wanted to revisit. It was a short story, but with all the experience I’ve gained over the years, I saw places where I could enhance their journey—one of the biggest being giving Maurice a voice.

Did you read my short second-chance romance, Maybe This Time Will Be Different? If you did, then you’ll remember how the story opens. The short follows Omar Harris, a barber at Kuts Kings… the same Kuts Kings from my No Fraternizing series.
Anyway, in Maybe This Time Will Be Different, Lila and Manny from No Fraternizing make a cameo. Their appearance serves as an update from their last one in Loveless (book 4 in the Forbidden series), when Lila was pregnant. So it’s a bit of a surprise when it’s alluded that she might be pregnant again. Especially when she’s first caught running off to the bathroom and Manny casually mentions she’s had an upset stomach since the day before. Then again when she runs out of the shop after Omar’s son’s mother jokes about Lila not knowing she’s experiencing pregnancy symptoms.
Well, this alternate ending picks up right where that moment in Maybe This Time Will Be Different left off! I had to revisit it. And, as usual, I feel like these two have another story in them.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of writing alternate story endings for Zoe and Bryant from Greed. They are complete opposites, which means there are endless conflicts that can arise from their differences, giving them endless opportunities to resolve those conflicts and grow. I don’t know—I feel like I need more time with them. They could use another story! Let me stop; the way my writing schedule is set up, I don’t even know if it’s feasible. So let’s enjoy this extra time with them… for now.
We witnessed them go from fake dating to getting engaged in Greed. Then, Zoe revealed she was pregnant in one of their Glimpses. And now, they are preparing for the next chapter in their journey… they’ll just need to sort out a minor “issue” along the way.

I think this might be my favorite alternate ending so far. Clarke and Yusuf were a favorite for many of my reader and for good reason. Their story, set on the beautiful island of Maui, was the perfect example of how fate can bring two people together. This alternate ending will lead into a very important scene in a future story of mine, and you’re among the few who will know the root of Clarke and Yusuf’s growth as a couple… right here in this alternate ending. You got to meet them as Kelli and Ryder’s engaged friends in From Friends to Forever. Now, they’re back with an alternate ending that plays on how they first met—arguing over palm oil and jerk seasoning. But this time, things are different. In Love, I Trust will celebrate its one year anniversary this month so this extra time with them is right on time.

Just like Beyoncé’s song “Just For Fun” off her album Cowboy Carter, my short story Chateau Luxure was just for fun. There wasn’t a huge premise behind it, other than it being the tale of a woman who was taken to an all-male brothel to have a night of fun after accidentally revealing that she had yet to experience a mind-shattering night with a man.
I’ve toyed with the idea of creating an extended story about Chateau Luxure. The place has already appeared in at least two other stories—Lust and Envy—and this supposed paradise for women may be a spot I revisit in future stories.
