When Love Just Happens: Episode 7 – Finally, Walls Come Down

ESME

“Good job today, Mason,” I said as I stood from my seat at the dining room table. “I told you, once you started researching, it would boost your confidence for the presentation.”

Alternate Story Ending: Monah and Prince (Chateau Luxure)

Just like Beyoncé’s song “Just For Fun” off her album Cowboy Carter, my short story Chateau Luxure was just for fun. There wasn’t a huge premise behind it, other than it being the tale of a woman who was taken to an all-male brothel to have a night of fun after accidentally revealing that she had yet to experience a mind-shattering night with a man.

I’ve toyed with the idea of creating an extended story about Chateau Luxure. The place has already appeared in at least two other stories—Lust and Envy—and this supposed paradise for women may be a spot I revisit in future stories.

For now, enjoy this alternate ending to Chateau Luxure, featuring the main character, Monah, and her male companion for the night, Prince.

MONAH

“Today’s special is Lobster Mac and Cheese with blackened salmon,” the server said over our table.

Meant to Be Chapter 12: “Why The F**k Won’t You Let Him Go, Huh?!

Another friends-to-lovers story where the FMC is so wrapped up in her past that she won’t allow her future to overshadow it. Meant to Be is a story I think of often, and one of the reasons is because of this chapter. Throughout the entire book, we watch as Genesis and August navigate the tricky transition from friendship to situationship. They’re both grieving the loss of their cheating spouses in their own ways and falling in love with each other at the same time. But in this chapter, it’s clear that Genesis is so tied to her past that she’s referring to her future by the wrong name.

Inside the Character: Getting to Know Naazir Goodman From Ebb & Flow

Naazir Goodman is an MMC I think of often, and I genuinely like him. The contrast between his personality and his outer shell is intriguing. The fact that he was more than what met the eye in Ebb & Flow is one of the reasons his character made a lasting impression… not only on me, but on readers too.

This Series is Complete!

I can’t express how good it feels to finally say that the Love is Cure, Vol. 1 – Vices & Virtues series is complete! Seven whole books, all following the theme of opposites attracting by pairing saints with sinners—vices with their virtues—and curing it all with love.

This journey of creating stories with tropes ranging from enemies-to-lovers to second-chance romances has been incredible. I’ve learned so much about character dynamics and plot development, and I truly loved seeing myself grow as a writer.

Plus, we got some really great books out of this journey. Really great books!

Each story in this seven-book series is a standalone, which means you can read them in any order you choose. While the stories are connected in some ways, the way each story is told ensures you won’t get lost whether you start with book four, work your way backward, or jump around.

This series has been a labor of love that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating. These are my babies, and now they’re yours too!

Enjoy, and if you feel moved after reading, please leave a review. It would be greatly appreciated. ❤️

When Love Just Happens: Episode 6 – Now, Things Heat Up

MALCOLM

I jogged up the brownstone’s stairs, still not entirely sure how I’d let myself get to this point. I just didn’t know how to handle what had happened when Esme was at my apartment three days ago, tutoring Mason in person for the first time.

Sloth Playlist

I’ve been getting questions about the music that inspired Sloth, so I’m excited to finally share the playlist with you. Music has always been a big part of my writing process, and the songs on this playlist really helped set the tone for Eryn and Simeon’s story. If you’ve read Sloth (or are about to get into it 🥰), these tracks are the perfect backdrop to their journey of love, redemption, and second chances.

You can listen to the playlist now on Spotify by clicking the button below. Let me know which songs hit home for you! ❤️.

Thank You!

Gratitude is one of those things that’s so important to me. I love giving it just as much as I love receiving it. So, of course, I want to share immense gratitude for your support yesterday. Thank you so much!

Yesterday marked a major milestone in my self-publishing journey. Taking something from just an idea and turning it into something tangible—pages and pages of words I can hold—is surreal and such a blessing. I’m beyond grateful, and I thank you for your support yesterday, for your support before yesterday, and, God willing, for your support in the future. You are truly appreciated.

Until my next post ❤️.

Blurb

Former flames reunite a decade after their breakup, given a chance to right past wrongs. Will they see it as their chance or too much of a gamble to try their hand at love again?

Character Q&A: Simeon King

On a crisp morning in Oakland, California, I found myself in the heart of Simeon King’s high-end office at King Sports Management (KSM). The office, located in a sleek high-rise, boasted expansive windows with a stunning view of the city skyline. The space was tastefully decorated with modern, high-end furnishings, and the air was filled with the scent of fresh coffee.

Simeon, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit with a neatly groomed beard, sat comfortably in a stylish leather chair behind his polished mahogany desk. The room was a testament to his success and high standards, with minimalist art adorning the walls and a state-of-the-art sound system softly playing instrumental jazz in the background.

“I’m glad you came by,” Simeon said, taking a sip of his coffee. “This interview is for Dallas, correct?”

I clarified that the focus of the interview was more on him than on Dallas, piquing Simeon’s curiosity.

With a hint of surprise and intrigue in his eyes, Simeon adjusted to the new direction of the conversation. As we began to explore topics from his past, it became clear that Simeon had not anticipated this shift. His reflections on Eryn Peters, his first love, revealed a nostalgic side that was both endearing and enlightening, offering a glimpse into a story filled with emotional depth and unresolved connections.

The unexpected focus on his past hinted at a compelling backstory soon to be revealed in his upcoming story, Sloth.
