RYLEE

She kissed her teeth. “I never realized you had such a big ego.”

Lennox tossed his head back and laughed.

“You’re talking a lot of shit in here.”

“It ain’t shit if I can back it up.”

“Ha!” she hollered.

Rylee watched as Lennox broke eye contact to trail his orbs down her torso, biting his bottom lip at the sight of her forty-two inch hips.

Their eyes met again when she shrugged and said, “Shoot your shot then Walker.”

Lennox rose from his seat on the back of the couch and closed the space between them. He stood close enough to inhale her exhale.

In front of her, Lennox cradled her jaw in his two hands. He glided the pad of his thumb over the rind of her bottom lip unhurried and stared her right in the eyes.

Rylee stood motionless at his touch, unsure what to do next. Her chest rose and fell as she tried her best to continue drawing in air.

Her heart pounded hard enough to hear the rhythm in her ears.

“Damn,” she whispered, her eyes examining his, “no hesitation, huh?”

He licked his lips slow then said, “None at all.”

Lennox leaned in and Rylee’s eyelids fluttered closed. She sensed the warm brush of his breath against her lips first before the hot touch of his mouth. He pecked her once, pressing his thick lips flush against hers next.

She found it hard to keep her knees locked in place. Aware of this, Lennox wrapped an arm around her waist to hold her up, used his lips to part hers, and slid his tongue in slow.

Rylee didn’t hesitate to reciprocate. The moment their tongues touched, her moan vibrated against his lips.

She couldn’t believe the sounds he pulled out of her. There was a sense of familiarity in his kiss. The way he held her in his arms, massaged her lips with his, stroked his tongue alongside hers. It was as if they’d done this before, been in a similar instance together. He wooed her, knowing exactly what to do in that intimate embrace. Not once did he fumble or try to regain a lost moment. Lennox made their kiss effortless.

Her brows furrowed as their tongues looped and twirled around each other. Lennox walked her backwards, only stopping when her back pressed against the floor-to-ceiling window. He left her feeling conflicted but turned on. Confused but hot and ready by the second. The cold surface of the glass window chilled her skin through the fabric of her dress.

The smacking of their kissing was a turn on for them both but especially for Rylee. Work had been her center focus for as long as she could remember, but specifically after her failed engagement with her ex. After that, she clammed up. But even before then, sex was always the last thing on the brain. It had always been the furthest thing on her mind because she never enjoyed it much. In that moment, she wanted it all, and from Lennox. The confidence he exuded with her as he kissed her like she watched men kiss starlets in movies, was enough to pry her shell wide open.

He broke their lip-lock with ease and pulled away slowly. Rylee’s eyes were still closed, her body moving in his direction, lips damn near yearning for more, searching for his.

She opened her eyes to find him standing inches away, wearing a cocky grin.

Lennox ran his thumb beneath her bottom lip and arched a brow as if to say I told you so.

She swallowed hard.

“So?” he asked. “How was that?”
