Lust Chapter 7: “What is Pryce Doing Here?”

Lust is the second book in the Love is Cure series and introduces us to Pryce Williams. If you’ve read my Forbidden series, then you might remember Pryce from Meant to Be, where he was a friend of the main character, August. In his first appearance in Meant to Be, Pryce is escorting his one-night stand down the stairs and can barely remember her name until she reminds him. Suffice it to say, Pryce is a player—and not just on the basketball court.

Lust presents a different side of Pryce. Although in chapter one, he’s still up to his old ways, by the time he lands back in New York City from Oakland, he’s a man on a mission. He wants his ex-girlfriend Leelah back, and he’s willing to do anything to achieve that goal.

Inside the Character: Getting to Know Clark Ali From When Life Gives You Sunsets

Clarke Ali made her first appearance in my book world in When Luke Met Juliette. She was the outspoken friend at the Valentine’s dinner table, and though she had only a few lines, it was enough to give readers a taste of her character. Readers got to know Clarke much better in her story, When Life Gives You Sunsets, a beautiful tale about love and healing hearts.

Clarke later appeared in my Valentine’s Day short story, Living Out a Love Song. This story was set in the past and showed a younger Clarke Ali. Clarke is one of my favorite characters. Her name is one I fell in love with the moment I gave it to her, and she’s the risk-taking, life-exploring spirit that gave When Life Gives You Sunsets its sunny feel. Let’s get to know her more intimately.

From Friends to Forever: Episode 15 – Trying to Face the Music

KELLI

Ryder’s melodic voice drifted through the condo and into my bedroom, gently pulling me from sleep. The soft notes of a piano floated through the air, making me blink my eyes open. The early morning light filtered in through my curtains, causing me to squint as I looked around my room.

From Friends to Forever: Episode 14 – Trying to be Smooth

KELLI

I pumped my foot on the potter’s wheel, my eyes focused on the clay as it spun beneath my hands. It covered my fingers as I moved them with a conscious grip and practiced precision, watching as the shape of the clay transformed before my eyes. I really should have been sleeping, but it was a Monday night, and I was home alone, wide awake after 11 p.m. The bright light above me, giving off a studio-like effect, shone down on my hands, highlighting the intricate patterns I was embossing in the soft, wet surface. There was something so satisfying about feeling the clay turn in my hands on the potter’s wheel, molding at every touch I made. It was the epitome of being creative.

Alternate Story Ending: Skylar and Noah (Just Friends)

Just Friends is one of my very first self-published stories and my initial exploration into the friends-to-lovers trope. So many of you have asked if Skylar and Noah’s story will continue, and I’ve joked that they’ve gone silent on me. But when I started Brookelynite Daily, one of the things I was most excited about was revisiting my characters from way back. I’m thrilled that one of the first alternate endings is a follow-up with Skylar and Noah. They were my training wheels for writing friends-to-lovers stories, and I’m so happy to give you a sneak peek into their lives after the original ending. Enjoy!

Pride Chapter 18: “Why Would You Bring Me Here?”

There were many chapters I wanted to do commentary on, but this one stood out to me. Although it appears later in the book, it’s significant because Jayce brings Summer to his home to meet his family and, most importantly, to show her the place that shaped the man she was falling for.

Jayce had a deeper reason for bringing the pampered princess to his neighborhood. It was a move that truly demonstrated how Summer’s love for Jayce was blossoming, despite the fact that falling for him went completely against all her plans.

Inside the Character: Getting to Know Luke Lockett from When Luke Met Juliette

Luke is one of those characters I knew readers would have mixed feelings about. He doesn’t fit the perfect image of the book bae who does everything right. He’s brash, brutally honest, and unapologetic about it all. And honestly, I really love that about him. He isn’t the most amiable person to read about, and he doesn’t say the things you’d expect from a book bae. He’s flawed in his thinking and a product of what happens when prevention goes too far.

Despite this, Luke’s heart is pure, and he is giving in so many ways. A nurturer by nature, the way he loves would surprise people who judge him only by what they see on the surface. And for that, I adore him.

Let’s dive into Luke’s backstory to get a better understanding of who Luke Lockett is.

From Friends to Forever: Episode 13 – Trying to Stay Close

RYDER

It was the rustle of my sheets when she rolled out of bed that woke me. The room was pitch black, with only the distant hum of cars on the road outside and the faint sound of Kelli trying to sneak out of my bed.
