Resuscitate My Love is Now Available in eBook

My fifth completed serialized romance, Resuscitate My Love, is now available as an eBook, exclusively for Brookelynite Daily subscribers.

This story is special to me. It’s my very first medical romance, set in Brooklyn Bay Medical Center, following Whit and Deion through a situationship that just wouldn’t flatline. It’s a story about second chances, fear, and learning how to love bravely… and it became one of my favorites to write.

Deion didn’t make it easy (at all), and I think that’s exactly why I love him even more for it.

If you’re in the mood for a soulful, slow-burning medical romance told in bite-sized weekly episodes—one that lets you witness two people revive a love that refused to die—this one’s for you.

When you subscribe to Brookelynite Daily, you’ll get instant access to:

✔️ Resuscitate My Love (full eBook)
✔️All four of my other completed serialized romances
✔️A complementary short story
✔️Exclusive couple updates, behind-the-scenes commentary, and character Q&As with your favorites — plus so much more

Alternate Story Ending: Rayla & Ajani (Ray & Jay)

Like a lot of our alternate story endings, this one has lived rent-free in my head since I wrapped up Rayla and Ajani’s serialized romance Ray & Jay. I’ve been asked if their story would ever continue, and I don’t think so. But I did always plan to check in with them here and there, and we get to do that with our alternate endings.

That said, this one is definitely a new favorite. Rayla and Ajani do the one thing we’ve been waiting for them to do, and honestly thought they never would… return home to the Mensah mansion.

And baby, was it a time to remember!

Are you ready? Enjoy.

RAYLA

Only the sound of sterling silver utensils scraping gently against fine china could be heard up and down the table. Normally, the sound didn’t matter to me. I was used to my girl Calese’s forks scraping and clanking against dinnerware like she was in a race against herself to clear her plate.

When Luke Met Juliette Chapter 7: “We’re not old friends, Luke… not in the least.”

All throughout When Luke Met Juliette, we’re waiting for the moment these two finally share the page again.

We get a glimpse of their spark in the prologue… two college students from rival schools with instant, undeniable chemistry. But every chapter after that hints that something went wrong between them. We see it in Juliette’s reaction to finding out she’ll be interviewing Luke. And we see it in Luke’s reaction to learning Juliette will be his interviewer.

What we don’t know is how it’s going to go when they’re face to face for the first time in years. But when that moment finally comes, it is not pretty. Their reunion? It’s awkward. Tense. And emotionally charged. And it makes for one of the most uncomfortable—and pivotal—scenes in the book captured over dinner… or lack of one.

Archetype Deep Dive: Amir Jones

So obviously, you know I could not wait to work on Amir’s archetype.

For me, he was the first MMC I crafted with deep, intentional detail. Amir had been living in my head rent-free long before I penned him into Girl Code. And even though he never had a voice in my book world—aside from that Q&A we just published—his character has always been rich and present. Anytime he was on the page, and even through Melodee’s eyes, we felt him.

Amir is the kind of MMC I love working with. He’s every romance girlie’s ideal man… charming, expressive, respectful, romantic. But of course, I had to give him his own set of flaws. And even with those, Amir still sparkles when it comes to love and matters of the heart. He’s a natural romantic. He always says the right thing. And no matter how outlandish the request, women can’t help but meet it. He’s lovable through and through, and he carries a deep respect for women, regardless of the nature of their relationship.

So what archetype does that make him?

The Charmer.

Character Q&A: Amir Jones

We’re in Amir Jones’s Manhattan suite overlooking the city skyline, just blocks away from Madison Square Garden where he’ll close out his international tour tonight. The suite, much like the man himself, is immaculate yet warm, sleek black marble countertops, deep gray walls accented by gold fixtures, and floor-to-ceiling windows revealing a glittering Manhattan afternoon. A soft playlist hums from a hidden speaker system, the kind of smooth R&B that has carried his name across decades and continents.

Amir lounges across from me in an oversized leather armchair, his posture relaxed but commanding. He’s in a crisp black hoodie, diamond studs in both ears, and a watch that catches every glint of sunlight. On the side table beside him sits a cup of hot tea with honey and a glass of lemon water, untouched for now.

“I love you, and you know that,” he says, flashing that world-renowned smile that has melted hearts since his first album. “But even you will have to wait for the right time to hear about it.”

He’s talking about the movie he’s currently filming… one he’s tight-lipped about despite my best efforts to pry. He takes a slow sip of his tea and leans back, ready to indulge me for a few questions before heading to soundcheck at the Garden.

The Turning Point: Summer McKoy’s Choice in Pride

To say that Summer McKoy was one of my least liked FMCs would be an understatement. She wasn’t written to be loved in the traditional sense. Like most of the main characters in the Love Is Cure series, she was flawed — shaped by her vice — but within that flaw lived the catalyst for her transformation.

Throughout Pride, Summer made it clear that she believed she was above everything and everyone. From the guy she’d secretly crushed on since freshman year, to the interns she competed with for a job she only wanted because her mother told her to, Summer moved through life convinced she was untouchable. Too good. Too prideful to care.

Until everything came crashing down the night she ran into her father… while on a date with the very man she swore she’d never fall for. That moment became one of the biggest turning points in Pride, shattering her illusions and beginning her healing.

Inside the Character: Getting to Know Alexis Hamilton from Second Serving

Alexis Hamilton wasn’t as new to my book world as some readers initially thought. She made her first brief appearance in my Christmas story Rekindled, and her line about heading to her parents’ home for Christmas dinner was enough for me to put a mental bookmark on her character, promising I’d return to her when the time was right. When I began brainstorming a Thanksgiving story (I’d told myself the year prior that I wanted to release one), she immediately came to mind—and I’m so glad she did. Once I finished outlining her backstory, I became a fan. Her friendship with her best friend Keith and how it formed was one of my favorite things to write. It was so pure, so natural, that I couldn’t wait to explore it further. If you’ve yet to meet her in Second Serving, hopefully this gives you a reason to.

Let’s get to know Alexis a little more intimately.
