I’d had Ayla and Hassani’s wedding in my head from the time I ended their story in My First, My Last. I didn’t know where they would have it, but I knew their wedding would open their spinoff story, and I knew the wedding had to hit. It had to hit because we had to see what these two would be fighting for. We had to witness the magic of their nuptials so that when challenges arose, we’d root for them to overcome them. And that started by making us feel like we had a seat in Jamaica, watching these two exchange vows.
