Archetype Deep Dive: Nubia Merci

I’ve said it many times, but I don’t mind repeating it. Nubia is one of my favorite characters, if not my absolute favorite. She’s who I aspire to be, honestly. Her peaceful and resilient nature is unmatched. She’s soft but strong. Relatable yet wise. There isn’t a person on this planet she can’t connect with, and she does it all with grace.

Nubia is one of those characters who simply came to me. I didn’t have to spend much time fleshing her out because I knew her story before I fully knew her. And the one thing that was apparent from the very beginning was that she didn’t just provide peace for others. She carried peace within herself.

Some might confuse her softness and supportiveness with The Caregiver archetype, and that influence is certainly there. But it’s secondary and not the core of who she is. While The Caregiver is motivated by helping others, what truly drives Nubia is harmony, emotional balance, and inner peace. She doesn’t just stabilize people. She stabilizes the emotional environment around them. There’s something almost magical about watching her navigate some of life’s toughest circumstances and still remain true to herself through it all.

What is her archetype?

The Peacemaker.
