Character Q&A w/ Dr. Liz: Lauryn James
It’s another session with Dr. Liz Peters and this one feels especially personal.
Liz would never admit it out loud, but the woman seated across from her, Lauryn James, balancing a mug of hot tea against her knee, is one of her favorite people to sit with in this room.
Not because Lauryn is sweet, though she absolutely is.
It’s because of her progress.
The kind of progress you can visibly see.
And the kind that makes Dr. Liz proud.
“My father’s memoir is done,” Lauryn says, smiling so wide every tooth is visible. “And it’s so good, Liz. I’ve read it twice.”
Outside, rainwater races down the tiny pill-shaped windows in translucent streams while scattered thunder rumbles overhead, creating a soft soundtrack for the afternoon.
But inside Dr. Liz’s basement office, the room somehow still feels bright… because of Lauryn.
