Archetype Deep Dive: Yusuf Baldwin

Yusuf Baldwin became a fast favorite for me from his character outline. I loved how devoted he was to his wife, even in spirit. Yusuf naturally exuded love and devotion and was highly driven by emotional connection and service to others. The death of his wife and the possibility of finding love again challenged the future he believed he’d have after his loss. Because loving Clarke doesn’t become difficult because he’s afraid of falling in love. It’s a challenge for Yusuf because he loves so hard that loving again initially feels like a betrayal of the love he already has in his heart for his wife.

He’s the guy people turn to for advice on how to navigate tough situations. Yusuf’s the younger brother, but his wisdom makes him seem years older. But he’s also a thrill seeker. He enjoys dropping himself into adventures and fully losing himself in them… especially when it’s with someone he loves deeply.
