The Turning Point: Mykal Jones’ Choice in Envy
This is possibly an unpopular opinion, but out of all the characters in the Love is Cure, Vol. 1 series, Mykal is one of my favorites. She was one of the most disliked, even after her transformation in Hawaii, but honestly, I think thatās because we could see a little of ourselves in her.
At first, she was difficult to connect with. Iāll admit that.
But once we saw how her outer world shaped who she became, we understood the catalyst behind her actions, even when we didnāt agree with them.
Mykalās turning point was subtle. Truthfully, it probably wouldnāt have happened had her envy not triggered the series of events that led her to Hawaii in the first place. But once she gets there and sits across from Dr. Liz, Mykal realizes something important:
The reason her grass doesnāt feel as green as everyone elseās is because sheās too focused on theirs to nurture her own.
And that realization changes everything.
