From the moment we saw Rayla Thomas and Ajani Mensah appear on the same page in the final chapters of her best friend Calese’s story, we knew there was something still there between them. We hadn’t gotten all the details from their brief run-in at the airport in Cali & Lee, but between Rayla’s reaction to seeing Ajani, her renewed interest in looking him up afterward, and the fact that their reunion visibly affected her, it was clear there was something to explore.
