Wrath Chapter 33: “I don’t want what happened to me to happen to her.”
Chapter thirty-three in Wrath was one of the reasons I was nervous about writing Lauryn James’s story. I had to fully submerge myself in her character to truly understand her, and that meant understanding her pain and trauma too. I wasn’t nervous about getting to know her. I was nervous about getting it right. And I knew before writing it that this chapter would either strengthen the rest of the story… or weaken it completely.
Out of all the appearances our resident doctor, Dr. Liz, has made throughout my story world, this brief appearance might be my favorite. Because, as always, Liz brings peace into spaces where characters believe peace could never exist. And she does it with ease.
