Driven + ambitious + missing the love of his life Driven + ambitious + missing the love of his life = Simeon King 🧔.

I couldn’t wait to dive deeper into Simeon’s character the moment I wrote the summary for his appearance in So This Is Love. Because who was this man who walked into Langston U’s gym and convinced Dallas Roque, a college basketball phenom who hated agents, to let him become his?

There was always a story behind the man with the silver tongue who was still hopelessly in love with his ex, and I was too thrilled to explore it. I love a second chance romance with some grit 🤭.

This weekend will mark two years since his story, Sloth, completed a 7 book journey that was once only an idea. 🄹

And I couldn’t imagine ending the series with any other MMC.

Have you met Simeon King?

One of the things I put on my summer bucket list this year was to take our girl on a ride on Deno’s Wonder Wheel at Coney Island šŸŽ”.

And now I have to do this with other stories in my catalog. Because I could tell you what happened, but I want to show you too 🄰.

So… do you remember this moment between Eryn and Simeon in Sloth?
Love to all the Aylas today ā¤ļø. Ayla Franklin is Love to all the Aylas today ā¤ļø.

Ayla Franklin is a fictional character in My First, My Last, but one of the defining moments of her childhood is rooted in a very real moment in our history.

Ayla lost her father on September 11, 2001.

In My First, My Last, I wrote the moment a young Ayla waited at her bedroom window, that faced the driveway, waiting for a father who wouldn’t make it home. It’s a piece of her history that follows her into adulthood and helps shape the woman readers eventually grow with.

But today isn’t about the story.

Let’s send love to all the real-life Aylas. The children who waited for their parents who didn’t make it home. And the families whose lives became divided into before and after on an ordinary Tuesday morning.

Love to them today. And remembrance for every life lost ā¤ļø.
Hates New York + loves Coney Island + harbors feel Hates New York + loves Coney Island + harbors feelings for her ex = Eryn Peters. 🧔

Eryn Peters almost made it seem like a second chance with her ex, Simeon King, wasn’t possible. But before her story even began in Sloth, we saw her in her brother’s story, Gluttony, and knew there was still love there.

It was just a little… displaced 😌.

Eryn puts up a front, but deep down, she’s a romantic. Her love for Simeon ran so deep that even after their relationship ended, she never quite managed to give that part of herself to anyone else.

Their story is one of my favorite versions of a second chance destined in the stars. A literal representation of if it’s real, let it go. And if it comes back, maybe it really is for you.

Have you read Eryn’s story?
Love notes from Hassani Franklin šŸ’ŒšŸ„°. I love all o Love notes from Hassani Franklin šŸ’ŒšŸ„°.

I love all of my characters but it always feels like home with these two 🄹.

Hassani and Ayla were good friends before allowing themselves becoming much more, and I really feel that friendship is what had them remembering to reach for each other when things got rough in their marriage years later… that and Hassani always saying the right things 🄰

Have you met Mr. Franklin?
Before Eryn and Simeon reunited for a second chanc Before Eryn and Simeon reunited for a second chance, they met as teens at a Brooklyn farmers market. 🧔

September is all about The Chance After, but to understand a second chance, sometimes you have to know how that love began.

Before Eryn and Simeon had the opportunity to choose each other again, there was a teenage Eryn working up the courage to approach the boy she’d been seeing every week at his parents’ farmers market stand.

She finally did.

They exchanged numbers, and that small moment became the beginning of Eryn & Simeon 🄹.

The Sloth Prequel takes you back before the events of Sloth to the moment their story first began.

And you can read it for free 🄰.

Read where Eryn & Simeon’s story began. The Sloth Prequel is available through my profile links 🧔.
Sept ’26 Shelf šŸ“š What do you do when life gives y Sept ’26 Shelf šŸ“š

What do you do when life gives you another chance?

There’s magic in second chances, and this month’s shelf explores different versions of the chance after.

Because sometimes that chance after is another chance with someone you once loved. Sometimes it’s finally choosing a love that’s been there all along. Other times, that second chance is simply choosing each other again. And, of course, the chance after can mean getting out of your own way and allowing yourself to believe there can be something waiting for you after what you thought was ā€œThe End.ā€

Because in my story world, a second chance doesn’t ask the characters to go backward. It asks them to decide what they’re going to do next.

So, if you’re in the mood for love worth choosing again this month, start with the titles here šŸ«¶šŸ¾.

September’s Cover Story - Sloth 🧔 When I sat down September’s Cover Story - Sloth 🧔

When I sat down to brainstorm the stories in my catalog that I wanted to highlight this month, Sloth was an immediate first choice. It’s one of my favorite second-chance love stories and a significant installment in the Love Is Cure, Vol. 1 series, as it’s the story that closed the series.

So… what do you do when life gives you another chance?

Sometimes second chances bring us back to someone we once loved. Sometimes they ask us to choose differently. Other times, they inspire us to consider that there may be something more waiting for us after what we thought was the end.

To me, endings are beginnings because everything is cyclical, and that’s exactly the conversation I’m exploring this September with The Chance After. And Sloth is the perfect story to lead it.

Eryn and Simeon know what it means to love each other and to lose that love too. Their story asks a different question the second time around: When love finds its way back to you, are you willing to take a chance and choose it again?

This month, I’ll be revisiting Sloth as it celebrates its second anniversary, along with a few other stories in my catalog about love, second chances, and what comes after… if it’s chosen.

āœšŸ¾ Side note: This is only month two, but presenting my catalog editorially has really made me fall in love with my stories again. I hope they’ll do the same for you! 🄰

Welcome to September’s Cover Story šŸ§”šŸ«¶šŸ¾
