Archetype Deep Dive: Lila Moore

Lila Moore is the very first FMC who appeared in a self-published story by me. No Fraternizing, Pt. 1 was the first tale I hit publish on, and that marked the beginning of my journey as a self-published author 11 years ago. And I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else to go first.

Lila was an FMC I was drawn to because of her refusal to shrink, conform, or live according to expectations that don’t feel authentic to her. She is exactly how she presents herself and doesn’t sugarcoat how she shows up. She enters a male-dominated profession without becoming ā€œone of the guys.ā€ So much so, her boss, Manny Perez, had to enforce a no-fraternizing rule, which only made it more complicated when she fell for the man she was literally forbidden to fraternize with… the man who made the rule.

And still, even though Lila presented a hard-but-soft exterior, deep down, she was all heart and a woman amongst women.

So, what’s her archetype?

The Rebel.
